A) Identify your strengths, and spend as much time as possible on improving and honing your strengths. Spend as less possible time on improving your weaknesses. because there is not much ROI on that. I am not saying ignore your weaknesses, but you have to be at all times fully aware of all your weaknesses, but stick to your strengths and not spend much time worrying about the weaknesses
B) In order to Identify the strengths as mentioned above, one needs to be exposed all possible and various scenarios to really appreciate what are the areas of strength.
C) Getting exposed to various situations, usually requires a mentoring role of a guide, who will back us through challenging situations and guide and motivate us throughout whenever we encounter setbacks, failures. Otherwise, the whole thing can backfire and the person can withdraw into a shell, instead of exploring new opportunities.
D) Coming back to point 1 above, spending as much time as possible means, years or decades also, which implies one needs to start as young as possible to reap the rich dividends of success. That means, that hugely successful people need to be exposed to various opportunities at the right moment in their youth and they need to be lucky/privileged enough to get the right backing/guidance for their ventures, then they need to be smart, mature and passionate enough for all things to come together and be successful. Typically for most people, by age of 35 they get this wisdom of what is their strength and weakness and then if they spend another 10-15 years honing and practicing it, we can expect them to be successful by around age 50-55, close to the time when they retire.
